Nominated for Best New Accessory Designer by GEN ART, CC SKYE marries unpredictability and wearability in her eponymous collections. CC SKYE consistently creates the season’s must haves that perfectly fuse uptown elegance with downtown edge.

With the break out success of CC SKYE’s jewelry line, the Designer evolved into handbags, launching the collection in the Spring of 2006 to rave reviews. Featuring the same luxe aesthetic as CC SKYE’s much-coveted jewelry line, the debut handbag collection skillfully fused chunky gold hardware crafted in her jewelry factory with Italian leathers in bold colors and modern silhouettes. In just a few months, the sophisticated “SKYE” bag, retro-inspired “721”, and the decadent “Lucy” Bag quickly reached cult status with Hollywood and retailers alike.

CC SKYE first began designing clothing and jewelry in the back streets and bustling bazaars of Kathmandu Nepal while on a six-month study abroad. While abroad, she lived with a Shaman in the hills of the Himalayas while filming a documentary on Hindu and Buddhist worship. While her wardrobe overseas was well suited for hiking the Himalayas, CC- always a true LA Girl at heart –craved a look off the pages of Vogue while living in her mud hut. “I traded in my hiking boots and began to make dresses with the help of local seamstresses... I was instantly transported to glamorous feelings of home, after six months of ‘simple living’.” She added metal work and gems to her creative pursuits while abroad. “Getting out of the consumerist mentality of the West really helped me to slow down and make something rather than just go out and buy it. It was the first time I had ever used my hands for anything,” explains CC.

After returning to Los Angeles, CC SKYE worked in identifying upcoming fashion trends for various trend predictive such as Louis Harris in Paris. She then went onto work in music and fashion documentaries as an Associate Producer at MTV Networks and profiled the lives of fashion designers for the Style Network of E! Entertainment Television. It was during a hiatus in the television industry that she found herself in the jewelry district of downtown Los Angeles where she began to work with a local craftsman who taught her the trade, much like the locals in the Himalayas. One summer later, a brand was born.

CC Skye is very popular among Hollywood stars and was spotted on Jessica Alba, Rihanna, Nicole Richie, Marie Kate Olsen, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Lauren Conrad, Cameron Diaz, Olivia Palermo, AnnaLynn McCord, Audrina Patridge, Eva Mendes, Sienna Miler, Hillary Duff and many others. CC Skye jewellery was featured in Harper's Bazaar, In Style, Elle, Allure, People, Style Watch, Teen Vogue, OK!, and Lucky.

Doii Lee: Like a Doll from Paris

After graduating from Central St. Martins College (the best 10 graduates of the College, 2002), Doii's first job was with John Galliano. While working with him, she was sometimes collaborating with the Christian Dior Team. After working with Galliano, Doii was chosen by Antonio Marras himself to work at Kenzo. Working with these great designers, Doii discovered her talent and passion, and felt a strong need to start her own label. 'Doii Paris' is then established.
. Following her instincts, the success of the brand comes as no surprise. She is using very special techniques, and together with her amazing talent the collections are really stunning and glamorous! In a recent interview for Hello Magazine, Doii said: "My collection is based around a doll I have, she reflects a certain type of woman. This woman can go anywhere, she has access to any place. She can go to the office, go out and meet friends, or travel to Brazil, anything! She's an independent modern woman...everything in my collection has an ultra feminine touch...I like to define my collection as sexy and fun with an innocent edge...".

Doii's collections are produced in Korea, she is participating in Seoul Fashion Week, and she also presents her collections twice a year during Paris Fashion Week..

Josep Font: The Spanish Infant Terrible

Josep Font was born in Santa Perpetua de Moguda, Barcelona. He studied design and pattern design in the international institute FELI. His first success in the fashion field came when he won the national prize of Air France competition celebrated in Paris in 1984. The winning design was exposed in the Paris Apparel Museum.

In 1989, Josep Font presents for the first time his work during the Pasarela Cibeles in Madrid. During this year he also has the opportunity to present his designs in the Lounge Contemporary of Milan and in the Piscine Deligny of Paris, where his first success in France is achieved: to win the prize of National Fil D'Argent.

In 1991 Gabriela S.L. is created, a company that is responsible for the production and distribution of the brand Josep Font. During this year he opens his own shop in Barcelona and in Bilbao. The shops of Josep Font are characterised by their unique decoration.

His international success continues throughout the decade. In 1993 he is invited to Igedo's Fair in Dusseldorf, thus making his way into the German market. In July, 1997 he presents his collection in Tokyo. In 2000 he opens his first shop in Madrid. In September 2002, Josep Font initiates his relation with the Galeries Lafayette of Paris. However, his great worldwide bet comes with the opening of his own shop in Paris, in the Rue Sourdière, next to Rue Saint-Honoré.

After a long path in the Spanish pasarelas, Josep Font presented for the first time his collection during the Paris Fashion Week. For his début in the capital of fashion, the designer chose the emblematic and mythical cabaret Moulin Rouge, which opened for the first time its doors to a fashion show. His second show in Paris took place in the Louvre, and his third one in the Hotel Westin. However, his big dream came true on the 24th January 2008, where Josep Font presented his first Haute Couture collection. The event took place in Space BMC, one of the warehouses Louvre has.

Miriam Ocariz: A great talent from Bilbao

Miriam Ocariz was born in Bilbao on the 6th December 1968. She studied Fashion Design in the Lanca International School of Bilbao (1990) and Fine Arts in the Basque Counry University (1992). During these years she took various courses in graphic arts, photography techniques, marketing and fashion, textile techniques, etc.

Her first individual collection was presented in 1996 during the Barcelona Fashion Week. Since then, Miriam Ocariz has not stopped participating in national and international fashion exhibitions and fashion shows, like White in Milan and Tranoi in Paris.

From 1993 to 1998 she combines her work with teaching Design and Fashion at the Lanca school of Bilbao. In February 2002 she won the prize of L’Oreal Paris as the best young fashion designer. In 2003, she worked for Armand Basi as the head designer of the women’s collection of the firm.

Her work is unique and very special, as she is using the method of hand-made serigraphy for the prints of her clothes, as well as digital stamping. Each piece has its own character and her collections are really different and exclusive. In some cases, she is combining the art of serigraphy with the art of direct painting. This method is mostly used on her famous T-shirts.

Her collections can be found in many countries around the world, including the famous Parisien boutique Colette. Princess Letizia of Spain has been many times seen wearing clothes designed by Miriam Ocariz. As the designer once said, her main inspiration comes from the world of Art such as expresionism, pop, or conceptual art, as well as from every day life. Her creative reference is Balenciaga and Lauren Bacall. Trademark: bows and prints. Favourite piece of clothing: the blazer.

Miriam Ocariz really knows how to give a very special character to her pieces. Her collections are always amazingly beautiful and elegant, with a focus to the contemporary woman. She is currently working on her new project which is the launch of a line for kids. The collection was presented in June 2008 in Pitti Bimbo in Florence.

Miriam Ocariz is worthingly considered one of the best Spanish fashion designers. She currently lives and works in Bilbao.

Ailanto: Two for Success

Ailanto is a fashion design company created by twin brothers Iñaki and Aitor Muñoz, located in Barcelona since 1992. Born in Bilbao in 1968 the designers moved to Barcelona where they graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona UB. Iñaki complemented his studies with a degree in fashion design.

The Universe of Ailanto is renowned for the colour combinations, geometric forms and artistic or cinematographic references. Signature print, figurative embroidery and elegant patchworks are frequently employed to enrich the collections, making the label a visual one, recognizable worldwide.
The Ailanto womenswear collections have been sold nationally since 1992 and internationally since 1995 with acclaimed catwalk presentations in Pasarela Cibeles in Madrid since 2001. In 2004 Iñaki and Aitor as designers of Ailanto, receive the Spanish Best Designer award from Glamour Magazine. In the same year they are awarded the LLongueras prize for Best Designer Collection.

Ailanto became part of the prestigious Spanish Creators Association (ACME) in 2005.Iñaki and Aitor, continue to develop the Ailanto fashion line with the addition of new products for the home, while collaborating in Art and Architecture projects.
